Post Processor Development for CAM systems
ITC, Inc. has many years of experience creating customized post processors for 2 or more axis machines. We have developed basic posts and highly customized posts for milling, turning and mill-turn centers from different machine tool providers.
Siemens NX
Our customized post processors are developed to specification with the objective to optimize programs, maximize usage of machine capabilities and improve process efficiency. Post processors are created using UGPost (Postbuilder, Post Configurator, TCL) and modified to satisfy process requirements and user defined preferences. Some of the customization provided includes:
iCAM
We have experience with development of post processors utilizing ICAM which can be used for any CL source from a CAM system.
EXECUTABLE
We have experience developing post processors for converting text CL files to G code using C or Visual Basic.

- Complex kinematics: We have strong competency for development of postprocessors and machine kits for:
- Multi-function machine tools (mill-turn or additive / subtractive machining)
- EDM’s (non-standard G code, 4 axis with additional table axes)
- Machine tools with attachments or multi-channel functionality (sync manager)
- Controls expertise: We have many years of experience with providing G code utilizing closed loop machining techniques (probing and restart considerations and logging) and utilizing ever increasing control capabilities (offsetting, frame alignment, polar, kinematic error adjustment)
- Templates and programming methods implemented for better programming efficiency
- Customizing program with useful documentation and control messages for operator instructions
- Development of subprogram or looping capability for tailoring to application
